KERALA LEGISLATURE LIBRARY

The legislature library is essentially a special library catering to the needs of the legislators in the discharge of their functions. The Kerala Legislature Library originated in the Dewan's Office Library of the erstwhile Travancore State renamed as the Legislative Library in 1921 and later as Travancore Cochin Assembly Library in 1949. The library got its present name, Kerala Legislature Library in 1956 and has since been exclusively meant to meet the information needs of the Members of the Legislative Assembly. The library with about 95,000 books, reports, gazettes, back volumes of periodicals and newspapers etc. is one of the best reference libraries in the State.
